Waiting for the Bad Thing to Happen

This inspirational memoir tells the true story of a life that began with abandonment through an illegal adoption in 1963—and unfolded into a journey of faith, resilience and unexpected joy.

Set in the heart of the American Midwest, this deeply personal story spans decades of growth, hardship, discovery and spiritual transformation.

It is a testimony that no matter how life begins, hope can still write the ending.

A Story Anchored in Faith

My memoir begins with my illegal adoption to a loving but troubled older couple in the 1960s. Both precious memories and troubled endings followed me to adulthood. Resilience and a foundation of faith kept me moving forward, somehow holding onto a bit of hope. My relationship with music and making connections with other people made a difference.

My story, hopefully, can reach out and connect with more people who have struggled. I look forward to those relationships.
